52nd Annual Mushroom Industry Conference

Join us at Penn State University for the 52nd Annual Mushroom Industry Conference. The first day of this year's conference will feature speakers primarily from academia presenting the latest findings and advances in mushroom production and food safety. Day two will consist of both breakout sessions and speakers emphasizing challenges and opportunities on an array of subjects with an emphasis on critical issues facing the mushroom industry today. One of the central breakout sessions will include an interactive discussion addressing the expiration of energy rate caps in Pennsylvania.

37TH AUSTRALIAN MUSHROOM GROWERS’ CONFERENCE

On behalf of the AMGA board I would like to invite you to attend our Annual Conference. This year the conference is being held in Perth WA.

The Annual Conference program begins with a Welcome BBQ on Wednesday evening followed a full day of farm walks. This year the farm walk begin with a visit to Perth Produce Markets where we will spend some time on the selling floor before breakfast. We will then move to MushroomExchange and following on from lunch at the wildflower pavilion in Kings Park we will visit Crown Mushrooms.

Please review the draft program on page three where I am sure you will be excited by the topics and the presenters who will be presenting this year.. There are some crucial topics to be covered by some the very best in the business. This year’s Conference is again brimming with international experts who will present the very latest information from around the world in highly entertaining and informative presentations.

I think you will be as impressed as I am with the quality of the program this year.

Jan Gielen, Anton Sonnenberg & Bart Driessen are just some of the well known and respected international speakers that will provide presentations at the conference. They will be supported by some of the best speakers from Australia in the sessions. The economic outlook will this year be presented by Hans Kunnen. Until recently Hans was the Colonial First State Global Asset Management Head of Investment Markets Research.

With the large number of International guest in Australia for the cross country motorbike ride the International panel will be something very special.

I encourage you not to miss the opportunity to network with the other delegates, our speakers, sponsors and exhibitors.

This yearly event attracts a lot of Polish growers and Polish and international suppliers. Lectures on growing and other interesting topics.

Open days Lutèce

In 2010 bestaat Lutèce 100 jaar. Op 25 september wordt een open dag georganiseerd in Velden.

Leveranciers, klanten, de inwoners van Velden en Horst, de gemeente en het personeel van C4C worden uitgenodigd om een kijkje te nemen op de productielocatie in Velden.

Bezoekers krijgen het hele proces te zien. Er worden zo'n 1500 bezoekers verwacht, die in een feesttent op het terrein terecht kunnen voor een hapje en een drankje.

Op 29 mei wordt een feestavond georganiseerd voor het personeel, op een geheime locatie.

Charity Motorcycle Ride

From 29 September - 5 October, 2010, the Mushroom For Life Charity Motorcycle Ride will be organised, from Sydney (or Adelaide) to Perth.

Participants will (probably) arrive in time for the AMGA annual conference that starts October 6th.

A key objective (apart from the fun) is to get media attention for health aspects of mushrooms and to raise money for cancer charities.

HLP Pilztag

Член HLP встретятся во вторник, 2-го ноября в 18:00 в отеле Drei Linden (г. Ветцикон) на традиционном Швейцарском ужине. В 19:00 в том же самом отеле пройдет мастер класс. Участники, обязательно вспомнят прошедший в июне этого года тур по Японии.

В среду участники могут посетить ферму Romanens Pilz в Госсау, где Патрик Ромэненс выращивает вешенку и шитаки.

После обеда будет организована лекционная программа, с докладчиками Патриком Ромэненсом, Магдой Верфэйлли, Мартином ван де Ворлом и Йоханом Дженссеном.

The 6th Meeting of East Asia for Mushroom Science

6-й Восточно-Азиатский Съезд Микологов
организованный Корейским Обществом Микологии будет ппроводиться в Кёнджу (Южная Корея) с 12 по 15 ноября 2010 г. От имени организационного комитета мы рады пригласить грибных ученых из Китая, Японии, Кореи и других стран. Съезд предоставит микологам возможность обсудить и обменяться своими исследованиями.

Кёнджу — бывшая столицей древнего королевства Silla, которое управлял большей частью корейского полуострова между 7-м и 9-м столетиями. Огромное количество раскопок и культурных ценностей этого периода сохранилось в городе. Кёнджу часто называют "музей без стен". Среди исторических сокровищ грот Seokguram, храм Bulguksa которые объявлены ЮНЕСКО объектами всемирного наследия.

Мы уверены, что эта встреча даст хорошую возможность ученым для академического обмена и возобновления персональной дружбы. Ваше присутствие на этой встречебыло бы крайне ценно.

The Fourth Chinese Mushroom Day

Китай - крупнейший производитель, потребитель и экспортер грибов, имеет долгую историю грибоводства. Чжанчжоу стал локомотивом развития промышленного грибоводства и консервного производства Китая. Полный цикл производства, включащий выращивание, переработку, консервирование, торговлю и логистику впервые возник в Чжанчжоу.

В Чжанчжоу три года подряд, начиная с 2007 года, с успехом проводится День Грибоводства Китая. Это мероприятие стало основой для продвижения грибного бизнеса в Азии и всем мире.

Champignondagen (Mushroom Days)

De Champignondagen 2011 komen er weer aan. 25, 26 en 27 mei 2011 zal de internationale vakbeurs voor de paddestoelenbranche voor de 32ste keer georganiseerd worden wederom in de Brabanthallen, 's-Hertogenbosch.

Standhoudersbijeenkomst

Zoals gebruikelijk zal er een standhoudersbijeenkomst georganiseerd worden in de Brabanthallen in 's-Hertogenbosch. Bent u oud-deelnemer van de Champignondagen of heeft u plannen om deelnemer te gaan worden, dan bent u van harte welkom op deze bijeenkomst.

53rd Mushroom Industry Conference

Penn State will host its 53rd Mushroom Industry Conference, June 19-21, 2011, in the heart of the U.S. mushroom industry-at the Mendenhall Inn, in Mendenhall, Pennsylvania. This is only the second time the event has been held away from Penn State's University Park campus and continues the effort to "bring the conference to the industry." The closer proximity increases accessibility for many participants and allows for a most interesting and informative tour of nearby mushroom operations.

This year's conference will feature speakers from industry and academia, including the ever-popular graduate students. The program will highlight the latest advances, challenges, and opportunities on a broad range of subjects, all with emphasis on the most critical issues facing the mushroom industry today. Topics will include up-to-date progress at the forefront of food safety, dietary health, and regulatory concerns, spawn technology, disease and pest management, energy use, novel substrates and cultivation practices, spent compost and more.

A Penn State tradition since 1956, the annual conference serves to promote the growth and welfare of the North American mushroom industry.

The 18th Congress of the International Society for Mushroom Science

China is among the earliest countries that cultivated and ate edible mushrooms. Recent years has witnessed rapid development in Chinese mushroom industry and mushroom scientific research. Dr. Huajun Tang, Chair of the Organizing Committee of the 18th ISMS Congress, and Dr. Greg Seymour, President of the International Society for Mushroom Science, are extending invitation to all mushroom researchers and producers to participate in the 18th Congress in Beijing, China, August 26-30, 2012 to share their research results and experience and to see the mushroom research and production in China with their own eyes.

International Union of Microbiological Societies 2011 Congress

We would like to welcome you to the IUMS Congresses 2011, which will be held in the beautiful city of Sapporo (in Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan) from the 6 – 16 September 2011, and hosted by the Federation of Microbiological Societies of Japan.

There will be three congresses: the XIII International Congress of Bacteriology and Applied Microbiology (6-10 September, 2011), the XIII International Congress of Mycology (6-10 September, 2011 and the XV Congress of Virology (11-16 September, 2011). There will also be two outreach activities to the general public which will be held in order to publicise the importance of microbial science and technologies and their relationship to our everyday life. We expect them to provide a deeper understanding of our activities and increase the public's familiarity with them.

IUMS Congresses are international conferences that bring together a wide range of experience and perspectives. Some microbes are a threat to humankind, but on the other hand many of them are essential for human life on Earth. Over many years we have accumulated a vast knowledge of microbes. Current research is showing us that microbes have 'unlimited capabilities' thus our congresses logo was set as "Unlimited World of Microbes".

IUMS 2011 will be a magnificent opportunity not only to share ideas and experiences but also to establish and improve friendships among colleagues from all over the world.
Finally, we welcome you all again to the exciting congresses and to the beautiful city of Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, and to the beautiful Fall season of the North island.

7th International Conference on Mushroom Biology and Mushroom Products

ICMBMP7 has as its goal the exchange of information about new findings in the aspects of mushroom biology and mushroom products including (i) Genomics, genetics, molecular biology and breeding (ii) Evolution, biodiversity and systematics (iii) Biochemistry, Physiology, Nutritional and medicinal aspects, Innovative products from mushrooms, (iv) Cultivation technology and bioconversions.

During the meeting there will be ample opportunity to meet with colleagues and friends in a relaxed atmosphere to strengthen collaborations between mushroom scientists and also between scientists and persons involved or interested in all aspects of the Mushroom Industry including Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms.

All Ireland Mushroom Conference & Trade Show 2011

As previously noted the next All Ireland Mushroom Conference is slated to happen on the Thursday 20th October 2011, at the Hillgrove Hotel in Co. Monaghan.

The programme of events for the day includes:

Friday the 21st October will involve a visit to Monaghan Mushrooms new farm at Tyholland.

The organising committee has commissioned an energy-use study of two similar sized mushroom farms powered by different sources of energy.

Electricity, oil and biomass usage will be compared and assessed.

The data and conclusions will be presented at the conference. Energy use is an area where every mushroom farm can make savings.

Full details of all the subjects and the agenda will be available closer to the event time.

The conference is sure to be beneficial to all growers and their staff.

Composting & Tunnelmanagement. Mushroom growing. Short Course 2012

The Short Course of CPoint© (Formerly the “Dutch Mushroom School”) has been for over 25 years the leading course for all levels (starters, employees, managers, suppliers), related to compost yards, tunnel companies and mushroom farms.

This internationally well-known and appreciated course combines theory and practice of composting and tunnel management (first week) and mushroom growing (second week). Many subjects (from start composting till harvesting, including related equipment) will be practically explained. Also a meeting with representatives of suppliers to the Dutch mushroom industry is organised. Furthermore, you will visit compost and tunnel companies and Mushroom farms during the course.

The course fee for one week will be €uro 975,- each. You can combine these courses. Than the costs for 2 weeks will be €uro 1.845,-.
